Well tomatoes and peppers are both part of the same family. My only issue with Sriracha is that it uses garlic powder which makes it taste stale, instead of fresh garlic.

Honestly it has a kinda one dimensional flavor that at no level accents a meal except to become the Main flavor, and when used slightly is just a week covering that seems pointless. Ketchup honestly is more versatile, and spicy ketchup as well. They are not the same at all on that note. Just mix tobasco with ketchup, it's good.
