What are some cheap, healthy, and easy meals a poorfag such as myself can make instead of eating cheap unhealthy processed shit? I'm not getting fat but I feel very lethargic from eating this

Ideally, forego pasta, chips, hotdogs, and frozen dinners. At least buy less and don't use them as daily staples.
Eat pasta sauce on veggies if you like pasta sauce. Things like carrots, green beans, zucchini, sweet potato, broccoli, cauliflower, and all leafy greens are about $1/lb or sometimes cheaper.
Buy chicken thighs as meat. It's the cheapest meat you can get unless you buy a whole chicken.
Use beans and rice as filler rather than pasta. Pasta is essentially completely empty calories, aka calories with no real nutrition, whereas from eating beans and rice you're getting fiber and protein in those same calories.

Easy meal:
>season a piece of meat with whatever you like, salt, paprika, pepper, herbs, garlic, whatever
>sear it in a pan both sides until the outside is cooked
>put meat in a baking dish with veggies and a little oil, maybe sauce if you want it
>cover with foil and bake 350F for 15-20 minutes or until meat is cooked
for chicken you want internal temp of ~160F or until juices run clear if you don't have a thermometer.

You can make a big batch of beans and rice once in the week and reheat it with veggies and meat on top. 2 cups water:1 cup rice for rice, there should be instructions on how to do this on the box. You can buy canned beans to save time as they're cheap, but if you buy bags of dry beans make sure to soak them in cold water overnight the night before you intend to cook them.

Sounds good bros, thanks for the advice. Gonna get a bunch of frozen vegetables, mostly broccoli. Also chicken thighs for that protein in addition to eggs. What's a good sauce to make beans in? Sometimes I buy those canned chili beans and eat them over rice. Oats with fruits also sounds good, especially if I can use my friend's costco membership and get a giant bag of frozen fruits.

For me cabbage & carrots are always dirt cheap and thinly sliced/grated together with vinegar & oil & salt & pepper & sugar makes a nice slaw
salt the cabbage in a collander/sieve and leave it for 10 mins then wring a bit of the water out first

then whatever else veges is cheap changes.
I really don't know why you'd go frozen

A poor person should care if he doesn't want to die. The best way to maximize your money is to get the most nutrition from your food. Besides, eating bleached pasta and sliced packaged bread is about as good as eating cardboard.
>b-b-but I like pasta and bread
Boo hoo, then eat it. It's still not healthy and still adds calories to your day without adding any nutrients.
Don't act so poor around me, it's gross.

Soup beans
1 pound dry beans soaked overnight
1 green bell pepper diced
1 onion diced
Whatever the strongest flavored pork you can get cheap so smoked ham hocks or whatever.
Water or chicken broth if you wanna spend the extra on it
Whatever herbs you like with soup beans

Drain soaking water off beans. Render some fat off your pork and sear the pork if possible if not add butter and olive oil to your soup pot.
Cook onions and bell peppers in fat until soft.
Add beans and then cover with whatever liquid you are using until the beans are fully submerged in water with a little extra.
Add seasonings at this stage hopefully bay leaves at least salt and peppers.
Dont use too much salt because this cooks down a lot but beans lacking salt are miserable.
Bring to a boil and drop the heat or stick in a 250 degree oven if you wanna not have to pay attention to it for a few hours.
After about an hour and 30 minutes the beans will be edible. I would recommend taking the lid off your cooking vessel and turning the oven up to 350 and let some of the liquid cook off at least 30 minutes but its however you them.
If you want it thicker but cooking it more will end up being too salty just crush some beans against your pot and stir together.

>> No.11444480

You're not doing too badly compared to a lot of the frogposters we get.
Eat oatmeal for breakfast. It's just oats and water. You can put a little sugar on there. Cinnamon if you're fancy.
I'd try switching the sausages out and getting some chicken instead. Bags of frozen legs are pretty cheap but look into how cheaply you can get a while chicken. It's not that hard to learn to take one apart and even if you screw up the first one you can still cook and eat it.
Save the bones for stock.
Look at the fresh produce section and see what's cheap. It'll vary depending on the time of year but carrots, potatoes and onions are usually not expensive.
Ever had a whole boiled onion? It's not bad. I throw a few small ones in with my potatoes sometimes. Saves me the hassle of chopping a small onion too since it's the same work as a big one.
Grow some herbs in the windowsill maybe. Basil is pretty versatile and a very easy plant to keep. Mint is too. Hell, some garden owners probably consider it more of a weed than an herb.

Lose the frozen dinners. Lose the chips (or make your own. It's just oil and potatoes)
Make your own pasta sauce if you actually want to eat that stuff. Crushed fresh garlic, chopped basic, can of tomatoes, salt and pepper. You can go fancier with it but that'll give you a nice basic cheap sauce.

Here is my rice and beans recipe (about 1250 calories).

1/4 habanero pepper
1/2 large onion
135 g long grain rice
200 mL water
1 can low sodium black beans
2 tsp oil
8 oz frozen mixed vegetables
spices (e.g. cumin, paprika, ground oregano, black pepper)

Chop onions and saute in oil, adding habanero at some point.

Meanwhile, mix all other ingredients in a metal bowl. I put the bowl on the scales and add each ingredient while resetting the scale.

When the onions are soft, add all other ingredients to put and raise heat to high, and cover. Bring to boil, stirring occasionally, then set to lowest heat and cook with lid on for 15 minutes, then let rest for 5-10 minutes without removing the lid.

I'm still working on the recipe, but it's quick, cheap and has decent macros (roast a chicken leg while cooking the rice and beans for more protein).

>Habenero: 2c (18c for 2)
>Onions etc.: ?

/fat/ here, is this a decent 1000 calorie diet to lose weight?

My breakfast is 350 calories
>Omelet (186 cal total)
>- 2 eggs, 50g, 156 cal
>- 1 tomato, 20 cal
>- salad leaves, 2 cal
>- 10g of yogurt dip, 8 cal (100g is 80 cal)
>- mixed in some random vegs
>Yogurt w/ protein 24g, 180g and (140 cal total)
>326 calories, round up to 50's for wiggle room

Is this fine to eat every morning or is it too big? I feel like I should replace the yogurt with something. I also have no idea what else to eat during the day. My idea was:

>Skinless Chicken leg, 200g ~ 300g, 340~490 cal
>2 carrots, 50 cal, steamed
>1~ cup broccoli, 15 ~ 30 cal, steamed
>Total: 570 calories round up to 600.

I don't know how much a single leg weighs because it's still frozen and I can't weigh it yet. It was 1 kg the entire box with 3 legs, plus marinade, so safe to assume one leg is 250g to 300g? This is with bones too of course. Also I hear you shouldn't wash marinade off with water because washing chicken meat spreads the bacteria everywhere. I don't want the marinade since I don't think it's healthy. I'm also going to cut the skin off before cooking so the fat doesn't get absorbed into the skin.

After that I only drink tea with some sugar (17 cal) so my total day eating would be: 350+600+50 = 1000. That's a good spot to stop, right? No need to eat more and I get tons of protein for my exercise.

Or am I killing myself with this kind of diet? Also isn't going on a diet like a decent way of saving money?

How big and how fat are you? I would recommend 1500 calories if you are normal sized and especially if you are going to exercise regularly. It sounds like it will take longer that way but it actually helps you to stay consistent and will make you reach your goal quicker that way. Also if you plan to do cheat days then do them every month and not every week. You can easily ruin one week of work just by one shitty day so be very careful about that.

Do you plan to eat the same every day? Pretty dangerous. I would at least create 5 varied dishes if I were you.

I told her I don't wash other peoples dishes just like my two other brothers. She kept telling me to fuck off and nagging until I lost it. This is why I want to kill myself, but I guess dieting this way I can slowly kill my future but at least look thin for a while. It's not a life I want anon. I think something must've gone wrong my brain. I can't seem to get a move on in any direction no matter how much I think I want change. I just feel so much shame. So much embarrasment and fear of failure. I also live in 7 million people country, so jobs really are scarce and unemployment is huge here. I am depressed and I have no help. Every week I fucking cry myself to sleep because I can't take it. I pretend online that everything is fine except on anonymous boards.

$35 isn't terrible. Not great, but you'll live.
Going by Walmart prices (get used to it, you'll be there a lot):
>15lbs brown rice: $9.50
>8lbs dried pinto beans: $5.88
>18 large eggs: $2.20
>10lb russet potatoes: $4.45
>2lbs carrots: $1.00
>3lbs yellow onions: $1.54
>celery: $1.28
>1lb broccoli: $1.88
>20oz spinach: $3.08
>1lb butter (NOT MARGARINE YOU FUCKSTICK): $2.04

That's $33.85.

The first week is going to be rough. You won't have meat (doesn't seem like you've been getting much of that anyway...), but the brown rice, beans, and eggs will provide your protein.
Assuming you don't have spices either, use the remaining $2 or so to pick up a spice blend like Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning (a /ck/ budget favorite).

And you won't be using all of this in one week. Unless you're eating for five, you'll have rice, beans, and potatoes for next week too, so you have an additional $20 next week to spend on meat and spices.

For meat, you want something with a good dollar:pound ratio. Look for sales, but don't settle for some grey "manager's special" thing that's been sitting there since last week. Chicken is a good option, as is pork. Avoid pre-seasoned shit and never pay more for a brand name.

Spices are a buy once, replenish as needed item. You might have to wait until next week and save for them, because they're not terribly cheap depending on quantity. You'll want black pepper, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, cloves, cumin, garlic (minced or dehydrated), salt, oregano, basil, thyme, rosemary (ESPECIALLY if you eat chicken, and you will be), and chili powder. Don't feel obligated to get it all at once, these are just what people would consider essentials. Ideally the herbs would be fresh and you'd be grinding peppercorns yourself, but ideally you wouldn't be poor either so... Once you get money, you can get fancy.

Flour bleaching is done to remove the reactivity of caratenoid compounds (xanthophylls and such, not necessarily the poster child caratenoid, b-carotene), since these can oxidize during storage and result in off flavors and aromas, which people associate with a lower quality product. Thus flour bleaching has no significant effect on the overall nutritional value of flour or associated products.

Both sliced bread (or ANY bread you buy from the bakery section or you make yourself) and flour are starch, and specifically provide that macronutrient.

Despite your feelings and attitudes to starch/carbohydrates, the fact remains that they are important energy storage units for the vast majority of living things in this planet.

You should first define what an"empty calorie" is from your perspective, then make your argument. "Empty calorie" to me is a poor classification mechanism used in an attempt to educate fatties as to why their dietary habits make them fat. Quit being such an insufferable Facebook-posting YouTube/blog post nutritionist and maybe think about picking up some textbooks.

I make 300$ a month from doing online work. Drawing and content creation. It's shit. It really is. Then there's nothing. I'm not on social welfare, even though I could be. I'm afraid if I walk in there unprepared they will eat me alive. But if I walk in there and tell them I've been a "content creator online for 8 years" they won't think I'm such a failure. But if I walk in and tell 'em I've been 8 years unemployed, but never signed up for benefits, they will just look at me as a pathetic piece of shit and offer no help at all or think I have prospects. I'm thinking of faking it till I make it. Take what I've made online and make a portfolio out of it. It'll be my "work", so to speak. I have 1 year of social service working (not jail shit, but it's the only alternative for military) in graphics design, which was my passion. I wanted to do graphics design, but I never applied to any jobs, instead I went into making videos online. I never took freelance work. Now all I have are 8k dollars in savings and a shitty online thing I can do for 300$ a month. I want to kill myself but first spend all savings into buying a gun to shoot myself with.

I suppose they will see me as a failure anyway since it's a government house. I think they'll see it as being unemployed for years anyway, even if I did work. They even look at working for that one year as "no work at all". They are brutal there and will talk shit to your face when you're down.

How the fuck do you even do that? How can you be so fat that you manage to spend $35 every week on food even though you're poor? I hope that you're talking about canned food and that $35 is for a week of supply that will last for months, because otherwise you need to stop being such a fatass.

$35 per week ≈ $151 per month ≈ $5 US per day
that's easy. the problem isn't that you're poor. the problem is that
you're fantastically stupid and likely an inbred mouthbreather.

example:
breakfast yesterday was storebought, frozen waffles topped with butter
and homemade strawberry sauce. had it with some coffee with milk.
total cost for this serving: 95¢
lunch yesterday was pork-stuffed cabbage, vegetable mash, homemade
mushroom gravy and homemade cranberry sauce. total cost for this
serving: $2.31
i snacked on a prickly pear when i got home. total cost: 57¢
dinner yesterday was pasta with pumpkin, garlic and chili. total cost
per serving: 65¢
total cost of eating yesterday was $4.48, which is 10.4% under budget.
eight-to-nine servings of fruits and vegetables, depending on if you
consider 100g to be a serving or 85g

today, breakfast was storebought cereal with added chopped dried apple
and yogurt as well as more coffee with milk. total cost: $1.23
lunch will be storebought tendies in a spinach wrap with lettuce,
tomato, onion and dressing with a side of homemade Korean-style
marinated cucumbers. total cost: $2.60
dinner will be rice with cabbage, tomato and garlic, topped with
fresh-grated parmigiano stravecchio. total cost: 67¢
total cost of eating will be $4.50. six-to-seven servings of vegetables.

conclusion: you can eat good shit on the cheap, even convenience
foods, and still get plenty of vegetables, fibre and a well balanced
diet overall. but only if you're not an inbred mouthbreather.

Roast sweet potatoes. Set in fridge for easy reheating.
Toss some oats with a pat or two of butter or coconut oil. Toast in oven untill smells NICE. cool, pour into bag, set in pantry.
In morning warm sweet potato, top with fist full of toasty oats, (some flax/hemp/chia seeds, whatever kind of nut or sunflower/pumpkin seed, coconut flakes etc are good too if you've got em) then a small drizzle of caramel or chocolate sauce and a bit of whipped cream on top of all the healthy shit.

You can also make your low-sugar higher protein granola w 2 c oats, 1 cup mix-ins (nuts seeds etc) and 3 large egg whites. (sweeten it to taste if you can't live w/o the sugar) Whip the egg whites up until soft peaks and fold the rest of that shit in there, and bake at 225*f for 80 minutes stir every 20 minutes.

Yes beans are good, and once your body gets used to them they don't make you fart.
buy 1 can beans, 1 can seasoned greens, and some eggs. Toast a whole grain bread (a loaf of walmart brand whole wheat is 1.09$ shut up about the cost) dry a fist full of canned beans w a paper towel and toss in a HOT pan with a splash of oil, cook untill they start to burst andf the skin gets crispy, toss a fist ful of the greans in the pan untill warm, fry and egg, pile it all up (in that order) on the toast, eat. you season the beans and grens as you see fit. I like smoked paprika and garlic beans and just a splash of lemon in the greens.
