I have had dogs my whole life and while it's true that they'll eat catshit they find on the lawn they definitely also have some foods they like better than others.
The shit eating in particular is not about food or enjoyment but is a purely instinctive thing. Kind of like how they will lick themselves; it's not because they enjoy the taste of their own ass but because evolution has hardwired a need for grooming into them.
