I'm in California and have no idea what I-1639 is. If it's to stop the banning of self-defense then does this mean Phoenix Jones is now a criminal?

does washington officially have the most cucked gun laws now

>> No.11438955

Since I DO live in Washington, I can tell you that the primary components of the initiative are targeting semi-automatic rifle sales.

You gotta be 21, pass a background check, take a class, waiting period, the whole shebang for one now. Another part of the measure creates a criminal charge if you store your guns without proper safety equipment, like trigger locks or in a gun safe.

The "Don't criminalize self-defense" line is a meme is about that storage component ("If my gun is stored in a safe, how can I use it if my home is invaded?") and about the idea that now 18-20 year olds can't buy rifles OR handguns (handgun age was already 21), depriving them of their right to self-defense.

The best part of all this mix-up to me is that Washington ALSO had a food-based initiative (1636) that the dude could have posted about to keep this on-topic, but he missed it.
