The other day I got into a conversation with a buddy about when we don't feel like cooking anything and he said his solution is to smoke a cigarette so he's not hungry. I drink tea for the same purpose, and after comparing notes we came to the conclusion that a cup of tea suppresses hunger about three to four times as long as a cigarette. This confuses me. Not OP, but when I was drinking tea I was still steadily gaining weight despite eating what I felt was normally. No sweets, just three square meals a day. Usually three eggs scrambled for breakfast, maybe a sandwich with crackers for lunch, and a steak dinner with three cups of vegetables. Had celery sticks if I was feeling peckish later in the day. Drank tea with every meal and alternated between tea and water when I was thirsty.

Then I went on keto, dropped pretty much everything in favor of meeting macros and drank the 5 litres of water that was apparently required. Lost 120lbs. Thinking of picking tea back up.

Usually never did. Once in a great while I'd add one of those single serve creamers, but I always factored them in to my day. That's good advice, but drinking water or tea or coffee instead of eating doesn't provide quite the same satiety as eating, and it doesn't work quite well enough to stave off hunger pangs if you feel them. Just speaking from what I experienced and tried. Maybe it was just because I was heavier that it didn't work well though.

I don't understand your point. I am in that hypothetical demographic of people quitting tobacco using a vaporizer. I love the taste of tobacco, but I am getting old and it is unquestionably a health risk to continue smoking it. The closer the fake shit comes to the taste of tobacco, the easier it is for me to transition into this method of cessation. It would stand to reason that the people making the tobacco flavored liquids are doing so to appeal to my demographic specifically. That also makes it sensible to assume another former smoker would have given the tobacco flavors a pass. This seems not to be the case oftentimes.

As for how the flavoring additives are made, I admit I am ignorant of how the process is done. I don't think being ignorant of this is a sign of stupidity. I'm happy to hear any information about it you have to share. I'd also love to hear about any of them you think actually taste close to tobacco.

There's definitely truth to it. Fat people eat whenever they're bored and need to fill a few seconds of their life with something enjoyable. Smoking's something you can use to fill time in almost exactly the same way. There aren't many other activities that work like this. Drinking and recreational drugs to some extent maybe, but drinking has calories of its own and makes you want to eat more, and recreational drugs usually aren't something you want to be indulging in with that much frequency.
