Where is food hell /ck/?

Is there a place on earth we can consider "food hell"?

I'll put forward rural Cambodia, cuisine includes rice, rice, randomly mangled meat and if you're lucky bitter beans. Liquor and snacks are relatively cheap however

I thought the food was pretty good in Cambodia. It's like a lighter and fresher Thai, plus happy pizza, Khmer fried chicken, people without limbs selling live seafood they cook right in front of you on a little makeshift grill right on the beach. I even had some pretty good fish tacos from a little hut on an empty beach (no idea what the "tortillas" were made out of, but they were actually pretty good).

Lot's of western Europe is actually pretty bad. I lived in France for a couple of years and if you're in a smaller city it's almost worse that flyover USA, aside from the bread, wine, and cheese. Most people just eat kebabs. fast food, or frozen shit.

I've been in the Russian fringe states, it could be a bit tough.
But they have good pickles, white cheese, the bread isn't bad
>>11391111
You could get decent grill in Cambodia, that's true.
And that small French /span ish town thing is true to - but they have an abundance of supermarkets or groceries

I feel like I'm in food hell. I just can't enjoy food anymore. I can recognize the quality and flavor, but I just have no desire to eat anything, nor have I for the last couple of months.

I watch a video on "recycled meat" street food once. It was in some southeast asian shithole.
Basically some grease all dumpster dived for thrown out fast food meat, half finished meals, spoiled food, etc. Washed the meat in a bucket and served with sauce.

That sounds like food hell to me

From watching all the early Survivors, thinking back in time to some of the indigenous diets of various places they were forced to do...
WORST hell on earth food is desert dwellers in scrubby third world shitholes. I remember Survivor Challenge Africa where a local tribe Maasai was draining the blood from the neck of a single water buffalo or other cattle they actually didn't kill because they needed the milk to keep flowing or because they didn't eat meat or some illogical crap to survive during famine.
Decades ago, London and surrounding tourist zones like say Windsor, Bath, etc, did deserve the bad reputation it had with travelers. It only improved very late 80s and early 90s with tech money and that kind of new level of banking and money. Kays good cooking is EXACTLY the slop or fare every neighborhood restaurant was doing as acceptable to the masses, and it wasn't. But, they were miles ahead in green thinking. Even top curry houses today will tell you the generation before them were operating restaurants with zero understanding of good food or how to cook, but that they were only open because of beer that flowed when pubs had already closed.

Depends on locality. Midwest is so large there is tremendous variation. Some cities have fine food culture whereas a lot of places and people are still stuck dining on miserable cuisine passed down invented during Depression era.

Miskito villages on the east Nicaraguan coast are pretty rough. The blacks can cook decent Caribbean food but if you go deeper in where it's just drug addicted natives then it's mainly fly-infested despair and some ok fish
