Protip: if you knew anything about math, you'd know that imperial is easier for everyday use compared to metric.

With a system based on 10, you can only cleanly divide by 2 or 5. Anything else gets into decimals.
With a system based on 12, you can cleanly divide by 2, 3, 4, and 6, which makes the kind of math that you do in your everyday life geometrically easier.

Its literally effortless when you've grown up with it.
And yes, it does matter. What makes math harder to do in your head is when you increase the number of significant digits (which is exactly what happens every time you have to add a decimal)

I guess its just one more way that your parents and your country failed you.

An American cup is 240ml as is British. In Canada and Australia it's 250ml, probably because they're drunken and dehydrated needing numbers they can count on their fingers (5-10).

American system goes evenly up to a gallon, where I think Brits have something weird at a pint, like 20 oz rather than double of what a cup is.
