Did they merge with taco bell or some other colossal parent group? It could be they're being kept alive to strategically hold whatever market share they have on fried chicken. In other words maybe it's not that profitable, but it keeps other fried chicken chains from living comfortably. I did have some recently for the first time in years and it was still shit

Just name recognition at this point, Popeye's is so much better.

I didn't go to kfc for many years. but I did go now that I've moved to a local with less negros. it weird that it comes down to it, but they serve decent tenders and good salty popcorn chicken.
besides the all white crew, the fact that they hire the finest young honeys, keeps me coming back

Honestly, probably the whole family meal setup.

Their $20 deal is enough to feed a family of 4 without putting in any work. Not even asking the kids in the back seat what they want. No customization, no toppings, just chicken, potatoes, and salad. My family still considers this to be more variety and more like a real meal than other fast food.

It's very different too, lots of menu items besides the fried chicken. They even have a taco bell crunchwrap rip off with some sort of marinated beef inside. Quality is astronomically higher than KFC in the US as well.

KFC opened up in Asian countries much earlier than other American chains and quickly adapted to its new environments. I think McDonalds in the Philippines serves actual fried chicken due to the impact KFC had by being there first.
