That's not surprising. One of the main putposes of an omnivorous diet is to be able to tap into food sources we can't process. We're too stupid to differentiate between an undigestable foodsource that is just too robust for our guts and a food source whose toxicity doesn't affect its primary consumer because we kill it or it dies before it can show symptoms. That and people don't fuckin care because muh money.

I don't know how you can listen to some guy claim a fish is the most toxic food in the country, cut it open, and explain how easily the bones pop out is evidence. I mean shit, they give this whole skit where they take the fish to be tested in a research center, and they give you a scary graph and all the dramatic music when he says what they want...that it's super toxic, never once mentions what the toxins actually are. There were so many red flags I lost track, this guy is literally citing some Vietnamese gooks throwing as many scary buzzwords as they to hide the fact what they're saying is ridiculous, they are suggesting algae are responsible for the release of toxins. Not once in this whole documentary is a counter view explored, because it's not a real documentary.

This distinction should actually happen. Pescatarians are objectively healthier because they still get all the nutrients that vegetarians and vegans are missing. Sea creatures, exempting whales and dolphins, don't have feelings or any semblance of awareness.

That said, algal oil is a decent substitute for DHA which is one of the few things that cannot be substituted in a vegetarian diet. Eggs, dairy, whey, and seaweed fill in the rest of the gaps for the most part. Taurine, if you argue for it, can be /sip/ped.

>Sea creatures, exempting whales and dolphins, don't have feelings or any semblance of awareness.
I won't eat cuttlefish. But yeah, sea creatures are basically organic machinery. You could argue the same about any lifeform, but sea creatures even more so. They're incredibly diverse, but not at all aware.

I skimmed it and it looks like bullshit to me. The ending was particularly humorous to me. They show the fish rendering plant where the garbage parts of fish are ground up into a slurry.

I legitimately think that's great. What a waste it would be to just throw the filleted fish out when there is still meat and edible pieces attached. Bone meal isn't harmful and I think making the shit into pet food is perfectly resourceful and nutritious.

I'd have absolutely 0 problem with knowing my pets eat slurry. It's probably better for them than the filet are desu.

Octupus show signs of incredibly high intelligence, probably similar to what our 1st contact with aliens will be, in the unlikely event we last that long. Just goes to prove the theorem that if we contact alien life we'll either eat it, fuck it or both. And in the case of octopus, based on my observation of 4chan, it's most certainly both.
