Have you ever eaten jap beef? In Japan, cooked by a jap? A5 wagyu is the most overhyped meme food. Plus "best beef" is such a retarded pedestal. Like the qualities that make a good steak are the be all end all of good beef. I defy you to make a good stewed dish with it. It will fall apart, and not in a pleasant way. Chuck it in a beef wellington, and you'll ruin the pate and serve a sopping mess. And the memes you hear about how well the cows are treated are memes spread by interested parties back in the 50s like with sugar.

My man you are so unbelievably wrong. You are right maybe if we're talking specifically about sausages, but barbecue in the American sense is completely unique to America. That is, large cuts of meat with a focus on the meat and rub, smoked for tenderness rather than preservation, and maybe an astringent sauce on the side depending on how far east you go. The closest things I can think of are Peking duck which is 1. Not smoked 2. Not meat (red meat being the main thing one would call meat in most cultures, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese at the very least) 3. Not served with a dark sauce. In the British isles you have Sunday roast which is quite close, except for the roasting bit. And more primitive forms of preparation of a carcass with combination of smoking and roasting, ie. on a spit or some such other contraption, are exactly that; primitive by necessity and not as a statement against the convenience of modern appliances. The Indians that taught the first settlers of the Carolinas their way of preparing meat weren't making barbecue, and neither were the settlers themselves. The evolution and spread which created regional variation even within states is what barbecue is. I defy you to go anywhere else in the world, find a restaurant specializing in meat, and demand a kilo (I'm assuming that's your customary unit, apologies if you're also American) of meat for which preparation began yesterday and also costs nearly nothing. You'd be laughed at, and rightly so, because it's so uniquely American. Come to think of it, the only place that does something similar is Boer food, but even they're more influenced by traditional European cooking with a good deal more sausage and roasting.
In short, McFucking kill yourself and learn what you're talking about before saying stupid shit.

With no sarcasm intended, please point me to something similar so at the very least I can improve my own stuff. I've tried herbs de provence which get lost in the smoke, and khmeli suneli which fares a bit better. I guess I could try some sort of curry spice blend, but I'm not sure I want to bet a rack of ribs that it would turn out well.

The dark stuff on the left with the tortilla chips in it? Refried beans. Cook a dark bean as you would normally, strain, mash, and pan fry in a heavy, preferably animal-derived, cooking fat, and season to taste. This one looks a bit more wet, so maybe add some stock to that recipe. And then crumble queso fresco (close in flavor to a fresh mozzarella, but texture like a wet feta) on top.
