Are some people just not meant to own wineglasses? I bought a new glass today to replace the one I broke yesterday and broke it before I even got to use it. This has been going on for years.

I even bought a metal goblet once and I managed to break even that. I would just like a nice cup of wine.

What's wrong? The bottle's not fancy enough for you to sip from?

>> No.11326325

ok, so maybe the glasses aren't the problem, how are you breaking them?

well the most recent break happened because the fridge door opened too fast and it was in the doorshelf being chilled and it tipped over the rail and fell to the floor

and before that my wineglass was sitting by the microwave door and when it opened it hit the wineglass and it fell to the floor

and before that for a very long time I didn't have wine glasses because I always broke them. I have a very nice metal unbreakable cup now from but it is no wine glass. I may as well drink wine from a mug.

Drinking Franzia straight from the box is pretty fancy IMO

maybe you should stick with the plastic red party cups if you're that accident prone

Why were you chilling a wineglass on the fridge door? That sounds like a risky thing to do for no reason.

wine tastes best when you drink it from a wineglass

Perhaps you could consider putting your wine glass on the shelf. Or perhaps not putting your wine glass directly in front of your microwave device prior to opening the door. Just a few tips, anon.

Like most European elite things stemware was designed to trip up anyone who wasn't raised as a member of the privileged class. Obviously that's not you, so stop pretending. There are plenty of less fussy glasses you can drink wine from. Find something you like. I gave up on traditional stemware years ago because I was tired of breaking that shit all the time.

Isn't it designed to stop you heating the wine with your hand?

you can get stemless wine glasses
they are quite expensive and fancy
they don't fall over and break, you can still knock them over and spill stuff but they kind of just roll onto their side

my dad uses them because he's a clumsy geriatric but he's also a total wine snob

I own several. I use them for red wine and as general tumblers, water glasses, a place to pour tea, and sometimes somewhere to piss during games.

You can get similar glasses to those at Ikea for reasonable prices.
If you’re in the US, Target I think also had a version.
