PE was mandatory in high school and health was mandatory in college ( sleep cycles, stress, diet ... ). The issue was that nobody takes these classes seriously. Employers and colleges don't select on whether you're fit or healthy; just whether you can do eigenvectors or write code.

It's better for the economy if the proles can be sold exercise gadgets later. (It's not, really, but that seems like the mentality.)

One solution is to institute some kind of boot camp where the bratty kinder are removed from their parents' sphere.
