I like it, but unless the limas are fresh-frozen, and baby limas, the can get too mealy, so I really don't make it much. I do other things with my corn and my beans. I very often have field peas, speckled butter beans, black eyed peas, and pole beans, in the southern beans sides rotation. I make a lot with various lentils, chickpeas, and red beans, as well.
Hoppin john is on the rotation.

Dressing w/onion, mushroom, celery leaves
Green beans w/ pearl onions
Olve oil n herb roasted root vegetables, baby stuff: squash, brussels
Carrot souffle (not sweet potatoes)
Wild rice n mushroom casserole
tomato aspic
cranberry-raspberry-orange-pecan jello mold
corn picalilli (tastes like bread n butter pickles)
Some kind of salad, usually with blue cheese or goat cheese, red onion, and some kind of seasonal veg and fruit
Relish tray has a lot of pickles and fresh veggies and dips
