women cook just fine, but it seems like the highest skill level in anything goes to men. which is interesting to me since many things do not require physical strength.

Take professional gaming for example. League of Legends, StarCraft 2, Counter-Strike. It's all men at the top. Music? Mozart, Beethoven, ..modern rock and contemporary- objectively all the best songwriters have been men.

Fine art? Sculptors and painters throughout history... all men.

I suppose you could argue that male oppression has held women back. But, could it be that women are less competitive? I think I have read that women's reward center in the brain doesn't react the same in competitive conquests. It could be that they really don't care.

no and that's certainly not historical either. it was a modern convention when everyone broke off into nuclear families instead of being part of extended families or larger communities.
Then that didn't stick around either as women started to work.
So in reality women cooked for a very limited amount of time.
