For example, I went to Japan and had a ginger pork sandwich at McDonald's which I though was pretty good and I had a "Tex-Mex" burger in England which was just salsa and chips on a burger

When I was in Singapore I ate at a local McDonalds because it was really late and it was the only thing open. I think it was Singapore.

Traveling is expensive and people can't afford to eat every meal in a fancy restaurant, and maybe they just want something quick before going off to do other tourist shit. That's just my guess, I don't travel. I hate going places filled with foreigners.

So my buddy's dad is Mexican & lives in Cabo. He runs a successful business and often travels internationally for work. He pretty much hates America. He probably hates me. He hates speaking english even though he is good at it. He really hates fast food. Despite this, when he went to China he said he ate the local cuisine for a day and hated it so much that he subsisted on McDicks for 9 days, morning noon and night. I cannot imagine how bad the food must be to eat nothing but McDonald's for 20 straight meals.

Finding maintained bathrooms between actual meals is where McDonalds works in other cities. Just buying a coffee or a soda, and or small snack gets you into a bathroom without a line or hassle in busy city centers where these are typically located.
Occasionally McD's has interesting local food menu items, like the desserts, or weird sandwich. They had bubble tea in Vienna to have with your pastry snack, and artichoke spread on burgers in Italy.

I like eating at mcdonalds in the airport before i fly home. Im american but I was in japan and they have so many options that american mcdonalds just dont have. Yeah its not traditional, but it is a unique meal that I cant get in america
