i live in spain. os quite normal to have a whole ham at home. a pata de jamón. i take a few thin slices with bread olive oil and tomatoes at breakfast everyday. usually i also take bread with cheese and jamon. and i also buy cecina de leon. and eat it slightly heated with olive oil, oregano tomatoes and goat cheese

I can't afford the good stuff. The store brand hams or ham steaks all just tastes like salty hotdogs mixed with liquid smoke. The more expensive kind is nice in theory, though.

Allan Benton is the fucking ham master and he knows it.

It's actually amazing. His stuff comes close to competing with the $$$$ Spanish hams at a fraction of the price. Hell, I can mail-order a ham from Benton's and even with the cost of shipping factored in it's still substantially cheaper than shit like Boar's Head, and the flavor blows it out of the water.

It's rare that you can get really good quality ham like that for LESS than the cost of water-injected industrial bullshit.
