The scare came from the incorrect assumption that dietary cholesterol = blood cholesterol. It doesn't but was presumed so because a diet that contains a lot of cholesterol is generally really unhealthy anyway (too much fat, excessively processed foods, etc.). If the rest of your diet is good there's no reason you can't have 2-3 eggs a day while maintaining optimal blood cholesterol and triglycerides.

The truth is that nobody really knows because dietary "science" is all speculation and bullshit. Don't eat anything overly processed and keep your diet reasonably varied and stick to high quality food if you can. That's as "redpilled" as any diet you are going to get. Also just don't overeat all the time.

dietry science is pseudoscience just like psychology as long as mechanisms and other important information about how the human body works arent fully understood. the best you can do is look at health statistics of small rgeographical regions or groups that follow a strict or specific diet and draw your own conclusions. the people of sardinia and the people of okinawa who live in so called blue zones, zones where life expectation is unusually high, would be a good place to start. if too much salt or too much olive oil in your diet would be bad, those people would not enjoy their exceptional health standards, would they?

it's unhealthy, don't eat them at all. eating eggs spikes blood cholesterol for hours. All the studies on eggs are misleading because they measure fasting cholesterol levels. So they have someone eat eggs, then only measure their cholesterol several hours after their last meal, when obviously there will be very little cholesterol in their blood.
So if you regularly eat eggs and meat and other maturated fats, you are killing yourself slowly, for real.

It's almost impossible to say without first creating an optimal diet.

Even a cohort study isn't be all and end all, because eggs might be providing a beneficial nutrients which are orthogonal to potential detrimental ones among the selected population. That population could have nutritional deficiencies fixed by the eggs for instance. For a population with a more optimal diet potential negative effects might well outweigh positive ones.

>Moderate evidence from epidemiologic studies relates dietary cholesterol intake to clinical cardiovascular disease (CVD) end-points. Many randomized clinical trials on dietary cholesterol use eggs as the dietary source.

I've looked into it extensively and there are 2 legit concerns.
1. the egg yolk must not be cooked or else you oxidize the cholesterol. Normal cholesterol is okay to consume but oxidized cholesterol damages you. So eat soft boiled and runny yolk fried eggs. No scrambled.
2. egg whites have lysozymes which tear holes in your gut lining through which they then pull undigested egg protein into your blood stream which leads to autoimmune disease. lysozymes can't be deactivated by cooking.

#1 you can get around by cooking only the egg whites, but #2 is unavoidable. which is why I don't eat eggs anymore.
