Hey /ck/, I’m visiting a friend in London and want to introduce him to perfect creamy Gorgonzola Dolce at its very best - but I don’t know any cheese shops here.

Can someone recommend one they’ve consistently had good results from? Ideally one in or near Finchley. I’ll google the nearby ones but if anyone has a particular recommendation it’d save me spending hours travelling around testing them.

It looks like the remnants of a 10 year old cumbox. I'm going to guess there is a mlp doll in there somewhere.

I'd recommend not eating melted cheese on its own (alternatively crusty cummies)

That’s not melted. That just what optimal Gorgonzola looks like at normal room temperature.

Just google London cheese. This was one of the first things that came up https://www.standard.co.uk/go/london/restaurants/nine-places-to-go-in-london-if-youre-totally-obsessed-with-cheese-a3663081.html
And it's got an instragram post from Androuet about gorgonzola dolce.

All but two of those are for places that just melt the cheese, but I will look into Androuet, thanks, that seems like the right sort of place.

Thanks. At a glance it appears they mostly just do British and Irish cheeses, but I’ll check them out in any case.

Yes, but it’s a 10/10 unique sweet and creamy cheese. You’re not really eating it for the blue, you’re there for everything else.

If not, the fuck are you doing recommending such a strong cheese to someone who probably won't appreciate it?

Neal's yard cheese shop, they have 2 locations in London, borough market is the biggest selection. Also borough market has more cheese shops to on market days .

Also 'provisions' on the Holloway road might be worth a shot but I'd call and check their first .

Gorgonzola is the most gentle, delicate, mild blue cheese in existence. It’s the cheese I give to overgrown children who are afraid of blue cheese to blow their minds - and my friend’s not afraid of blue cheese, he’s just never had the opportunity to get into it properly.

OP here. Tried Neal's Yard Dairy, they didn't have any gorgonzola because they only do British/Irish cheese, but they did direct me to a small Italian restaurant/deli nearby called Lina nearby that had some absolutely wonderful gorgonzola, probably the best I've ever had. Went to Paxton later and got some gorgonzola there, and it was good, but Lina took the cake.

Oh, someone suggested it while I was out. Thanks for the tip, was spot on even if I didn't actually see it in time.
