How does tipping on a card work? I've never figured this shit out. Sometimes I'll notice the +tip amount shows up a few days, maybe a week later. Other times the tip never hits, and I feel bad and wonder why the server never got their tip. So what's going on? What's it like at your restaurant? What's the process in adding a card tip? Stories, etc.

What you are supposed to do is write down a zero so entitled waitresses get what they deserve.

General process is they charge you for the bill immediately but tally and post-charge you for the tip later in batches. Most credit processors have a way to store a key for quick secondary transactions or to more immediately refund or void transactions so it shows up separately without needing to run it twice.

so you tip your car dealer too? You tip your postman too? Basically it goes like this:
"Do you tip your <insert job name>?"

You see the what I am getting at right? You only tip waitresses and valets, which is craycray since they both get paid to do that too!

But it makes sense, the only two countries that I was ever expected to tip at were the USA and Brazil. In Europe the employers pay a decent wage and so the concept of tipping is so foreign it's actually insulting.

wut. the tip amount shows up as the total amount spend at the vendor. so paying $55 dollars as a restaurant will show up as $55 on your statement, even though your actual amount as $45+$10tip.

No point arguing anymore. They've pretty much succeeded in converting 4chan into a generic social forum.

Nope. They take your card, they swipe it, they bring back your card with the receipt where you then write the tip + sign your name. I notice the tip never seems to show too.

well apparently wherever you are from does things in a retarded roundabout fashion. here we fill out the cost of the food + tip and the balance statement is the total of the food+tip.
