howdie gents, Scots here visiting America next month. So which of the American beers taste LEAST like piss?

>> No.11210084

>>11210074
Just drink imported beer, Scotsman. Due to Prohibition destroying our beer culture and having to rebuild from scratch, it's pretty fucked here.
Or stick with hard liquor.

Mass market beers? New Belgium. Non-IPA American craft beers are excellent as well.

But really you can have a good pint anywhere in the UK; better to try something you can't get at home.

IF you're visiting California, Colorado or Vermont try some Marijuana, we have some of the best in the world. If smoking isn't your thing we also have edibles and the like; it should be a fun experience.

This, Sam Adams and yuengling are best macrobrews. Otherwise it all depends on the area, I would find a good beer shop and talk to the people there.

I fuckin love the Scots man. I was talking about how we disliked beer with a Scotty online, and with his funny accent says ''Beer tastes like somebody took a pish out their arshe, beer's arshe pish''. I use that line now whenever anybody asks why I don't drink beer.

We have literally thousands of breweries here, a nation 2,600 miles wide and 1,600 miles long doesn't just drink Miller or Bud. Super cool meme though, bro.

scotland is where the beer is so bad they turn it into whiskey so they don't have to drink as much of it.

>> No.11211902

Fair warning - whenever you buy a beer in a bar in North America, it will be served warm and flat. I learned that this is because they keep their kegs in fridges and it goes from there straight to the tap, rather than being chilled while being drawn through the line as in Europe.
Why it's flat I don't really know, they don't care about a head on their beer.

Not even going to argue this. The abundance of local craft brews and solid brands available nationwide (Lagunitas, Ballast point, etc.) makes me wonder why people still buy Coors Light by the truckload.

just don't buy the absolute cheapest beers and instead buy the ones that are a couple dollars more expensive. that will effectively filter out all the shit brands (coors, miller, bud, etc.)
