It's moderate protein. Too high will turn it into glucose anyway, too low and you'll start losing muscle mass and feel like crap. Typically the reccommended protein is about 25% of your calories. Moderate.

Notably I struggle to teach that. I kinda have to force myself to eat it because Its more protein than I was eating before starting keto...

Protein goes by weight, you want 90g to 120g of protein per day. That's because that is how much your body needs, depending on how much you exercise and stuff like that. So, 360 to 480 calories from protein per day.

Gluconeogenesis (conversion of protein to glucose) is inefficient at about 57% conversion, though, so it's not like you're gonna die from eating a bit more, especially if you spread it out across the day. If you're doing OMAD as well and eat more than about 150g of protein then you're probably pushing it.

I've been following a 1500 calorie per day meal plan combined with a 4on 20off intermittent fasting diet. During the off period each day I have as much water as I can stomach plus 2 cups black coffee. Then during the 4 I can eat I split that time into 3 meals. I eat a meal at 1600, 1800, and 2000. It took several weeks to adjust but now I don't even have to think about it. Oh and I do exercise. I do the cardio p90x DVD every other day and I walk 3 miles daily.

if you're on a fast then you don't get muscle wasting, your growth hormones spike and preserve muscle mass. your liver makes glucose from the glycerol backbone used to store fat. it can't make a whole lot like this, but if youre fasting then nearly every organ in the body is running off ketones anyway, so your body doesn't need much. i once fasted for several months, my blood sugar got down into the low 40's but I had no issues with hypoglycemia.
