Brad seems fine, Babish seems like a faggot. I'm sure he's nice but something about him rubs me the wrong way. Brad is charasmatic, Babish seems fake in a way. Brad seems to do what he wants, Babish seems to be doing only what he's asked to do. I think it's really about genuineness. In this case I'd say Brad is more genuine while Babish sort of does what's cool hoping to ride the wave of popularity to fame.
It's worked for him, but it doesn't make for good entertainment. I don't care about "Finn Adventure Time Choco-Choco-Chip Pancakes" as much as a straight forward guide to making pickles.

I agree with your sentiment here, but I think you are being a little hard on the Babish. I would call it more produced and therefor artificial. The guy cooks, tries to look a little animated, and does a voiceover later. But it's still a good watch. I do prefer Brad though.

Also he did start his basic series which I tend to enjoy more now than the "movie/show food item of the week." And he does livestreams which I respect. A few hours cooking and shooting the shit with his fans is pretty cool, though I have never tuned in for one.

As others and I have said in this thread, Brad's natural charisma and charm is hard to compete with. Babish has done great making his channel, educating people on cooking while making it entertaining, but all of his stuff is done in post. It's not a detractor really, but it just is hard to compete with the natural likability of Brad who you just have to stick a camera on and let him go. The quick, funny edits/jokes done in post make the viewing funnier, but you could take those out and it would still a better show.

If I recall correctly, GIFs just store one image after the other, instead of storing an image and then calculating the difference from that image to the next frame, and the next, etc.
This means that they need much more memory to store the same thing (except maybe in the case of a series of flashing images which are very different from each-other)
Webms, in that regard, are much better (plus the fact that GIFs need to be loaded fully before playing, and that most browsers have an integrated reader for webms)
