I’m going to the store, what kind of ice cream should I pick up? What’s your favorite ice cream?

Bought by itself, rum and raisin. Though I'd prefer without raisins, could probably swap out rum for marsala wine and do a tirimasu style one with crunchy biscuit pieces. Coffee is amazing, but you can just add a shot of good coffee to vanilla for better results. I'd like to make a kinda chai ice cream, with cinnamon, anise, diced root ginger, orange zest and chocolate etc. Something simple and nice is 1 part strawberry ice cream, 1.5 times unsweetened Greek yoghurt, 2 parts skimmed milk, I find that ratio most refreshing and not too rich.

Wtf is it bout ice cream that sets my boner into overdrive?

I've tried multiple times, can only remember one being blueberry and that it's a pain in the arse without a machine, they turned out good though. Babish has a good video concisely showing a few methods for icecream that vary in difficulty.

I wouldn't even bother without a machine honestly. Chef John has a few recipes that you could build on by adding toppings.

Nice trips.
They were Red Velvet and Cotton Candy. The latter is my favorite flavor in general. Especially when it's from a place that makes their own.

I've been getting the "Private Selection" store brand from king soopers and its the creamiest ice cream I've ever had, at half the price of Haagan Dazs and Ben and Jerry's. 10/10 recommend.

They are still lacking in flavor variety but the coffee and matcha are great.

Do yourself a favor anon and look at the ingredients before buying. Your product of choice should ideally have Cream as the 1st and main ingredient and avoid weird additives like HFC. Another tip is to make sure the product says "Ice Cream" instead of "Frozen Dairy Dessert". Take a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJIhJ-SblNs

Yes. I find that I get the best results by cooking a base of milk, coconut oil, simple syrup, tapioca syrup, salt, and flavorings with a quantity of iota and kappa carrageenan until it gets to 175F, then letting it chill. Blend after the gel sets until smooth to form something almost like a fluid gel, then pour into ice cream maker. Stays soft and creamy even when completely frozen.
