Is tri-tip only a west coast/California thing? I've lived all over the country and feel like I've seen it all my life, but everyone keeps telling me that it's really only found in California and the surrounding areas.

Nah, they sell sandwiches everywhere. You may even have a nearby Subway that can sell you a generic looking sandwich just like the one you posted.

tri tip is a central coast thing, started in santa maria

Believing that a regular cut of beef,
PRESENT IN EVERY COW
is somehow """regional"""
You hipsters are pretty fucking dumb.

the different way that butchers butcher meat ensures regional differences, for instance Europeans have very different cuts especially when it comes to ribs. Or are you going to tell me you butcher your own meat?

You can get it anywhere as long as you know your butcher. Everywhere I have lived in the flyover areas it was unavailable in supermarkets

First heard of tritip in Texas, and we have it reg in Washington.

I hate flyovers, but at least they try to make non-generic things.

This.
It's everywhere. Not everyone calls it 'tri-tip'.

Stupid fucking Californians love to claim they are the origin of everything. I know, unfortunately, 3 who all claim that Cali invented the fish taco... Think about that for a minute.

Yeah I'm sure you've spent a tooooon of time in the Midwest. You only hate it because it's en vogue on 4chan.
