/ck/ how do you season your broc? Preferably without added salt

I usually do olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper and then roast until the florets start to caramelize a bit. You can hold the salt if you'd like, though.

That's a good option but for me it's the plain boiled broccoli with a glass of the cooking water on the side.

Not OP but most of the time my main dishes are fatty and salty, so I like my vegetable side dishes to be lighter and refreshing. I usually just put vinegar on my vegetables.

I do this
>boil or saute for 2-3 mins
>low-salt soy sauce
>a bit of olive oil
>lemon juice
>a bit of sugar
>1 clove or garlic chopped
Best shit ever. Add tomatoes and fresh herbs to your liking and you'll get a decent salad.

Brocolli is so packed with flavour for a green veg, why would you need to season it unless you eat it with nothing else?

Just eat it with something more rich in flavour and it's perfect as is for a side

Personally I chow down on blanched broccoli as soon as it's cooked

Learn 2 season. There's a beautiful moment where the right amount of salt makes the food almost taste sweet, it's beautiful. Properly salted food doesn't taste salty.

This.
I salt my coffee with just a few small crystals and the difference is huge. Also I always salt my chocolate mousse or glaze when I bake stuff. I pity the fools who fell for the "salt is bad" meme.

my man.

couple years back I had an argument with a friend who insisted that a lot of things taste better without salt. I got challenged to try it for 2 weeks - didn't use any salt for cooking and avoided eating pre-made salty stuff.
the results were pretty amazing. I still wouldn't agree with him 100% but I admit that a lot of things that I'd consider bland before I now enjoy without any seasoning, or just with some herbs/spices that nicely compliment them.
for brocs I like some oregano

i bought a small jar of this fully expecting it to suck.
but i like it. it tastes near-identical to salt to me. it's not offensive in anyway.

in fact, that slight unusual taste is pleasant. i'd use it even if i wasn't watching my sodium.
