They used to be called cornish pasties and when we are out of the EU they will be again. Everyone knows they are cornish pasties regardless of their name.

I live in Richmond Virginia and the proper pie company has some really outstanding stuff. One of my English mates said that they looked like Pukka pies.

I'm partial to the odd steak bake.

They aren't a patch on the local legend that is Bird's. Check out the Bird's Cheese & Onion Roll here (pic related), with a bit of crunchy cheese on the top and, it tastes, like about twice the actual cheese of an entire Greggs cheese'n'onion pasty. The Bird's doughnuts are miles better too. Sadly, they can't do meat pasties to save their lives.

>>10910075
Baked pies, pastries, doughnuts, cakes, cookies, sandwiches. A key thing to remember about the Greggs experience is that they're baked ahead of time and depending on how many they sell some of them will be cold.

>>10910074
They aren't Cornish pasties, though, they're crimped on the top and they've got more meat in them than a proper Cornish. I'm not saying they're not good, but they're not, you know, proper. The steak bake is definitely Greggs comfort zone.

I don't live in England and I dont mean this statement to be any evidence towards the british food meme, but greggs was one of our favorite foods in england. British food is delocious, but we dont have any gas station ready to eat food that can compare with that. I think i spent about a 100 bongbucks on those pasties.

I'm surprised meat pastries haven't caught on in the US. A place like Gregg's in a college town could collect with drunk young people, closest thing we have is normal fast food and garbage from gas stations, most of which stop serving hot foods late in the day
