I have been suffering terrible indigestion the last 4 nights.
I have been a massive alcoholic for over a decade so why now? I wake up at 12-2am and can't get back to sleep it is so uncomfortable. Am I died soon?
Any other al/ck/s suffered this before?

Not OP, but how are those two related?
That's like saying an itchy ass is due to your shoe size.

That happens to me sometimes. I think it's some combination of drinking to much hard liquor and irritating your guts, or just having alcohol poisoning (I know, we forget what that feels like sometimes). It's hard, but just go easy for a couple days and you should be fine. Most bad things come on pretty suddenly.

holy shit, you're like those 70 year olds that get arthritis and tell the doctor "but i've never had this problem before." keep up the good work.

Yeah I've haft pancreatitis 3 times before. That sucks. The pain is phenomenal.
This is my body maybe telling me to slow down before I hit my 4th episode. I mean at least hospitals here are free, food is surprisingly good, and they put you on a self-acting morphine drip (which I love) but this is totally different.

So in that case I am asking what does it mean ofc dumbass.

It has to do with diet, alcohol intake, type of alcohol, and general health.
If you have developed ulcers you will get this type of reaction from alcohol indefinitely.
Buy a type of medicine from your local pharmacy called Gaviscon. I know Walgreens sells a generic brand for a cheaper price. It's a non-dyed, non-flavored "Tums" type medication at high strength. I am an alcoholic and take 2 before bed on a night I have drank too much. They neutralize acid in your stomach and soak it up like dry rice. I would be fucking dead without those things. They taste like chalky marshmallows.

Not an alchie but you could try elevating your upper body slightly. If you don't want to get OTC acid reflux meds then try getting a foam insert for the upper half of your bed, or finding some way to elevate it a bit. Not much; you just want your head to be on a higher plane than your feet when you sleep so as to help keep the acid in your stomach. Pillows don't work because they don't elevate your entire esophagus. If you can't manage to sleep that way or don't want to bother get a script for generic omeprazole. It's cheap as fuck if you can. Otherwise it's $16 for a 42 day supply at the store.

OP to correct myself, this >>10904552 is only a short-term solution to periodic indigestion. If you have a chronic problem then >>10904569 has it all right. Get a wedge pillow to sleep on to elevate your head from your stomach, and get put onto a maintenance medication. I take Pantoprazole 40mg twice daily but it's $30-$50 per month depending on insurance or prescription discount card ($300 monthly without), and I only take it because all other options don't work for me. There are lots of good medications out there to manage reflux and indigestion.

I drink on and off and I've had this sometimes.

I just put 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in my water.

>>10904471
This is also good advice. I've heard it said that (for whatever reason) lots of people experience heart problems and think its heartburn.

>> No.10904887

downloaded a sobriety app to see how much i actually drink longer term

i'm averaging 22 units a day last 3 months, which makes me really worried because drinking this much even just every week is considered "binge drinking" and here i am doing it every day

Your stomach lining is slowly losing it's ability to absorb nutrients. If you keep this up you'll get pellagra, it's supposed to hurt.

Itchy ass can mean anything from it being dirty, you having parasites, hemorrhoids, yeast infection, liver failure to cancer. By estimating your IQ from that post I can safely say you have a brain tumor.

Probly have an ulcer or something. Take some anti-acid pills for a while (strong ones)

Or you know, just go to the doctor (OH RIGHT US DOESNT HAVE FREE HEALTHCARE). It's such a shit choice to be an alcoholic in a country where you must pay for healthcare, enjoy your inevitable debt that will make you lose everything and live in the streets when you're old.

>> No.10905420

>>10905410
Nobody has free healthcare. It's simply that many places treat people like children and force them to spend their money on healthcare whether they want to or not.

I used to live in England and now live in the US. The cost of private insurance is much lower than the taxes I used to pay. Of coure if you're dumb enough not to buy it then you're in fucking trouble.
