They get to be hot, it kind of creeps up on you. I'll eat a chip or 2 and think nothing of it, and then halfway through a snack size bag, I'll start getting a hot and breathing to cool down my mouth. The heat goes away really quick too, it's weird. The only thing I can think would be since it's a spicy powder, and there's no oil, it's all water soluble and gets diluted off of your tongue much more quickly.
