Maybe, but it depends more on how the rest of your diet was. Did you get enough protein from other foods? If you drank milk and had cheese and eggs it probably didn't matter too much, but meat still provides things they don't and can be beneficial in the right amounts.

I ate huge amounts of yoghurt + cereals. I ate cheese and eggs in modest amounts.

You're probably fine then, a vegetarian diet can be almost as good as a diet that includes meat to the point where it probably doesn't make a noticeable difference unless you were trying to be an elite level athlete

I don't care if people get veges, your choice, I just don't like when vegans pretend to know anything about nutrition by what they have learned from the first page of google results after typing "why are vegans great"

>> No.10897679

>>10897646
Yeah I'm fine with vegans who only do it for moral or environmental reasons but trying to claim it's healthier is something that's just wrong considering non-vegans can eat everything vegans do, plus more. I guess if you compare it to the average diet of someone who consumes too much sugar and processed food, a well-planned vegan diet can be healthier, but not over a well-planned omnivore diet.

anything is healthier than eating processed foods. whether that be all meat, all vegetables/ or a mix of both. I think a lot of the health benefits vegans attribute to excluding meat actually comes from excluding processed foods, they wrongly assume it is meat that is causing them ill health because it fits their moral / ethical narrative, that meat is evil and thus it must be bad for our bodies, which patently is not the case.

This is exactly right. It's the elimination of processed foods that provide the real benefits.

Losing weight is another huge factor that gets ignored with these discussions. Even if you keep eating processed foods, just losing weight if you were overweight or obese will make you healthier.

Yeah probably. You missed out on protein and other essentials during the important years of your life when you're growing.
