Anyway, I prefer to drink at home with a small group of friends because most bars are crowded, too loud to have a conversation, and most importantly, the drinks are priced sky high unless you are at some small town dive bar.
That said, those small town pubs are the shit. The one in my hometown has such a nice, worn aesthetic to it. Too bad the town itself has the same feel, but in a bad way.

I like trying new beers at bars. My local place does a few nice craft beers for four bucks a pint on Tuesdays, to kick kegs. Also I'm not autistic so I know how tips work: you tip super heavy, close to 50%, and as long as you're not a sperglord and can make good conversation, bartenders will start pouring you free drinks. Comes out to a little less money than if you didn't tip at all, and you get treated much better.

I don't go in for cocktails too much, but I love tiki bars. A well made zombie is a work of art, and two of em get me blacked the fuck out. The smoking thing is a big deal too. I work as a bartender in a country were we still smoke in bars and it's great. I don't smoke but it goes hand in hand with drinking. Usually some kind of ale. Browns, dubbels and tripels are great. Wheat beer is no bueno for me though. My dad really helped developed my taste local for local craft beers (NE area) - and steered my away from lagers. They're alright though if I'm drinking them with friends or the right food - Asahi with sushi or Dos Equis with pizza.

Newcastle Brown Ale is probably my go to when in doubt- can find it in many a restaurant and concert venue. Those scenarios make up a bulk of my outside drinking.
