Cheapest I can find it for in Australia is $8.5/kgAUD.
That's about $6.3/kgUSD.
There are 2.2lbs in a kg.
Is this good value or can you get it much cheaper in your country?
What is the cheapest animal in your country? Lamb and chicken used to be cheap-ish here but now everything is fucking expensive.

It's at a local butcher. Yeah you won't be finding it at Coles or woollies for that price.

USDA Choice (basically the B-grade) was $9.99 /lb. ($22/kilogram) for T-bones yesterday at my Kroger grocery yesterday in Ohio, USA.

OP our ground beef is not even as cheap as your t-bones unless on sale.

All the independent butchers around western Sydney sell "BBQ steak" for $9 to $11 a kilo. I'm not sure what cut those really are, but they're nowhere near as good as a T Bone.

>>10883227
I've heard people say kangaroo meat is cheap. I've never seen it proven. My guess is that the lion's share of kangaroo kills go to dogfood, because they couldn't be bothered looking after the carcasses during a cull.

Oh Jesus. That's like two hours wage for me in Australia. How much do you earn per hour? T-bone sine even a premium cut. What do you pay for top tier meat?
>>10884360
I understand it's a bit more expensive there, bc you have to import everything. What is your go-to cut there?

>> No.10884443

>>10884429
Shank for stew, and hanger for steak, I guess, although I haven't seen the latter in supermarkets here. The average supermarket will probably have pre-cubed chuck, and sirloin and ribeye that are cut too thin. I've been meaning to look for a proper butcher in my neighbourhood - with luck they might cheaper than the supermarket chains

what does good value mean to you? cheap steak is in my opinion usually not even worth eating, it's just bad
in the US chicken can be found for <1$/lb and pork for <2$/lb

the bit about chicken and pork prices was meant to answer OP's last question, unrelated to the comment about steak
and cheap steak is literally a meme, its for poor people who want to eat good food like rich people but dont know what good food actually is. you're better off grinding a $5/lb steak into hamburger

Where the fuck do all the germans spreading bullshit come from lately, or is that always you?
Currently €19 at Aldi, was €18 at Lidl few days ago, other markets not much more.

>> No.10884683

>>10884568
That sounds a bit more believable.
On a side note, Aldi doesn't really compete with its meat prices here. Are other larger chains cheaper there or is Aldi one of the largest?
Here, Aldi is a very distant third behind the top two.

Maryland USA, T-bone was $9.99/lbs last week, but porterhouse's were on sale at $8.99/lbs (normally $11.99/lbs) so I got one of those.

I bought a bunch for $5.99/lb during a 4th of July sale, they were actually some of the best steaks I've had, and I used to live in Tokyo.

The pose are two good prices.
Place I regular has chicken breast for $9/kg every day of the week.
Rump is $19 for a 2kg buy every day, too.
Your specials are good, but overall your meat is expensive.
I do like your $199 rocking chair though. Do you think you could find me one?
