Does anyone else get nervous af when they have to pick out their own fruits/veggies? Whenever possible I grab a preselected bag of them instead of having to pick them myself. Too much pressure.

That's called dependent personality disorder. See a therapist before it's too late.

Sometimes I think people are watching me when I'm checking out the girth of phalic fruits and vegetables.

No, but I dislike having to deal with waiting at the deli counter while they're slicing all of my lunchmeat and cheese. I mean, I try to make small-talk, but I just get the vibe that I'm wasting someone's time even though I know it's their job.

what part about picking up a food with your hands and putting it in your cart makes you nervous

Honestly, yeah, but I don't know how to prep much of anything, and I feel uncomfortable sitting there staring at my recipe list while people blow past me irritated that I don't know what I'm doing.

Same with the deli. My parents never did much cooking, so I don't have anyone to emulate or even know how to order something. Much less getting good meats from a real deli.

I pretend to know what I'm doing. A lot of food doesn't bounce, I learned that quick, so you do a squeeze, and discard ones that look brown/inconsistent in color.

The whole process of picking and choosing and placing into the bag. If everything already came in pre-selected packs I wouldn't have a problem.

No, but I hate having to go through the self-checkout with a lot of vegetables and having to manually search the name of each one. I feel like the attendant is always watching me, thinking I'm trying to cheat them (I am).

Just pick the vegetables and fruits that look good. Have you ever looked at an apple that's soft with a lot of bruises and thought that it looked good? No you haven't.

>> No.10883492

Yes because the last time I picked out vegetables I thought looked good, my fridge ended up swarmed with maggots the next day.

>Too much pressure

where is this pressure coming from?
