I plan on making some beef broth soup. I have 3 broth bones and 1 beef shank.
How would I approximate the nutrients in this soup per cup? I tried looking it up but it’s all so inconsistent. Nothing takes into account how long the bones have been boiled, or how many bones have been used, or factoring in the broth from the beef shank

(Weight of bone before cooking) minus (Weight of bone after cooking)

Then look up nutrients on bone marrow. That ought to be a good way to approximate.

I love beef broth consomme potage bouillon soup

noice, that was actually a good suggestion. So I just take the net weight change, and find out the nutrients per 100g or so from that?

the beef shank is easy enough, weigh it raw and google the calories. the bones are gonna be tricky though, those are all going to vary a lot more than a hunk of meat will in the bone to marrow ratio. are your bones wrapped or from a butcher? if they're wrapped with a barcode, try scanning them in myfitnesspal and see if they come up.

Trashed the wrapping long time ago. I've had them frozen for a few months

Use the highest calorie value you found in your searches and then you'll always be erring on the safe side.

Why would you want to manage your weight? Are you fat? Lol!

If you are an experienced lifter you would know how to approximate calorie intake easily. Only literal retards obsess over stupid shit like calories in broth, it's embarrassing really.

It's also a fuckin' dumb way to spend your time when rough estimates are all it takes
50 calories, 5g of fat and protein per serving

The problem is that most people are absolutely horrible at estimating weights and measures. Sure you can do it once you've gotten experienced at it but you need to start somewhere.
