Yes, they specifically don't card you if you tell them you're going to food court. Food court takes cash/card (some only cash) but they never card you. You can eat at a Costco without a membership.

Look at that smug little hot dog sitting snarkily in between those onions and relish. Sitting there knowing, KNOWING it's not just ANY hot dog. It's a Kirkland Signature brand sausage. 1/4 pound all beef or polish hot dog for a buck fifty? Of course it knows it's the best deal around. It sees you there looking over the menu as if you had any other choice in the matter. Even without the 20 oz. soda (with refill) it knows it's still just plain irresistible.

(food court employee)

The Food Court is THE biggest loss leader. The food court normally loses money just on the food cost itself. That does not count the labor of employees and other overhead. In fact, if the food court were to make money then that puts up a red flag at corporate. We are told that the money charged to customers for the membership fees, all of it, is what is used to compensated for the losses. So the membership fees are ONLY used for the food court.

No, because it would have to show that it's doing so on purpose to deliberately push people out of business rather than just trying to remain competetive.

Ie, a company prices everything i has at 5% of market value for a year and drives all busieness in a town out. Then puts prices back up. Nearly all businesses, to some extent, have loss-leaders. Milk in supermarkets is a major one.

They don't count how many items you have, they don't know the prices you have of each item, it's just a do-nothing job they give to useless fucks. If you were stealing, the cashier or self-checkout fucks would catch you first, they're the ones who might know a single thing about what you're buying or hiding.
