It can be pretty good if it's made with lots of pistachios like in OP's pic. Trouble is you will hardly ever find some like these. What's mostly sold is made with lots of walnuts and a few pistachio sprinkled in and this is when it ~feels~ too sweet cause there's not enough flavor to balance out the sweetness.

I ate a lot during my childhood (my mother is lebanese) and I think that'll be enough for most of my life. Too sugary.
The breaking point was when we where in that restaurant north of Constantinople and after a very filling dinner each of us had a balaclava for dessert. After bringing it to the table the waiter then proceeded to pour a shitton of sugar syrup on top of it.

Of course one would despise baklava that is made for tourists and sat on the shelf for more than 12 hours. Fresh baklava with high quality ingredients is where it's at, not drowned in moldy walnuts and syrup.
