Hey guys I have a question that has been plaguing my mind for a while now. Why do normies drink diet soda? Don't they know that it is bad for them and worse then the alternative?

>> No.10845340

Most of the people say it's for the taste. The original drink is too strong for some people so they go with the diet brand.

I doubt it's actually worse for you than normal soda, since drinking this much sugar is fucking terrible for you.

But quitting all soda is clearly the best move, you'll stop being addicted to sweet shit and will be able to appreciate the nuances of good tea and coffee.

I don't get people who drink 6 cans a day just because "muh 0 calories" okay it might be 0 cals but at what cost? These people are fucking up their insides.

At least unlike smoking, noone has to breathe in my secondhand diet soda.

Its a shitty drink for fatties but how is it worse than the alternative?

>muh Aspartam

literally no studies have shown adverse effects of diet soda

Apparently it fucks up your gut flora and makes you still crave sweet foods but if the alternative is being obese because of how much regular soda you suck down I'd say diet soda is a little better.

The study you are referring to has a sample size of less than 12 people.
>makes you still crave sweet foods
You can't quantify or measure "cravings", discarded.

Every piece of disinfo about sugar alternatives comes either from misinformed people or sugar industry shills.

My man, you cannot read.

This is a study about both regular and diet sodas and how diet soda causes increased risk of stroke and dementia where regular soda does not. It also cites several other studies that tie diet soda specifically to increased metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, myocardial infarction, and vascular death.

There are a few studies showing that they can have potentially negative effects on gut flora.

You could if it's associated with weight gain. If artificial sweeteners trigger something in your brain to make you want to keep eating but it never gets full, you could eventually switch to non-0 calories foods to feel full and eat more than you would otherwise. People might consume more of those foods if they think there's no negative repercussion since it's 0 calorie.

Saying one is perfect and the other is awful isn't really a good way to go about it. I don't really think sugar is a good thing, it really messes up my skin if I have more than a few grams at a time, but I don't think artificial sweeteners are perfect either.
