i remember how i'd keep opening the freezer and staring at the freezer burnt discount tv dinners waiting until I was finally hungry enough that I didn't care how shitty they were.

An autistic (really) guy at work used to bring those in and cook them in the microwave. They smell awful. The guy was a chemist but couldn't get along with anyone. I named him Rainman but less for the math and more because he occasionally pissed on people at urinals.

This picture makes me feel like shit every time I see it

I used to really love these as a kid. Used to bring them to work as well for a while until I started grabbing those premade salads and sandwiches available at most supermarkets.

You little ingrateful shit your dad was spending alot of money to feed your lazy dumb ass who couldn't even boil water and put noodles in it.

if he didn't love you he'd be feeding you the even cheaper lower end t.v dinners. Your whore of a mom took all his money though.

Mom could cook, but wouldn’t after I turned 8 or so. Dinners were Banquet pot pies or $1 frozen Mac and cheese.

Your dad sounds like a pretty cool boomer.

I grew up eating those because my dad was always on the road with his band; and my mother left when I was young.

Now I have a guilty nostalgia feel when I eat one of them as an adult.

By "band" you mean county construction crew, right?

I can cook just fine but I have yet to find a reason to not use insta-mash or frozen vegetables.
