Without looking it up I'm willing to bet Europeans had some Spring rituals about eggs and hares/rabbits even before the introduction of Judaism and Christianity.
I assume Americans have some traditional pumpkin dishes but I haven't really seen that part mentioned in Denmark yet. People carve the pumpkinds but if they eat them it's probably mostly pickled, which isn't new here either.
