Who here are masters at using chopsti/ck/s?

I've been practicing my chopstick game by using them whenever I eat rice (which is a lot, because I eat chinese takeout almost everyday rather than unhealthy microwave/fastfood food).

I wouldn't say I'm a master at it but I'm good enough that wh*teoids get insecure around me and start asking me about a bunch of obscure shit they expect me to know about literally every dish ever eaten anywhere in Asia

I've used them enough to wonder what the point is. They seem like a utensil designed for people who need their food cut in advance. I've observed a lot of native chopstick users in Chinatown (for autists: this is a term for regions in many non-Asian parts of the world where multiple Asian cultures congregate to sell Asian products, primarily food) and have observed that they tend to eat food that has been cut in advance. I have also observed that many of them have a habit of consuming their food sloppily, with slurping and sucking sounds that most would deem impolite. Overall, I would say that chopsticks are ultimately unsophisticated even though they predate Western table manners.

In my experience autistic people are more likely to eat noisily and want their food cut up than non autistic people. Am I wrong?

I'm pretty good. Agree with

though, they're ultimately very limited in the types of food that can be eaten politely compared with the fork/knife/spoon combo.

What could be noisier than metal utensils making screeching noises against a plate?

My reply was mostly aimed at your bizarre disclaimer about "Chinatown" as if this were some obscure term that nobody understands except you. Let alone "non-Asian" parts of the world. Singapore, KL, and Manila all have Chinatowns, and they are definitely not "non-Asian".

Also as far as people "wanting their food cut up", you might as well argue that Westerners are autistic for wanting their food pre-cooked. Shabu shabu and Korean BBQ joints are very popular Asian restaurant formats where the patron is expected to cook their own food at the table from raw mise en place. Something like this seems strange to Westerners who tend to view the act of cooking as a chore rather than as something fun to be enjoyed with a group of people.

>>10816609
Not so much a chore as a thing you expect someone to do when you've paid them to do it. I'm perfectly capable of staying home and cooking my own food if that's what I want to do.

You say that as if everyone at Jordan barbecues are having fun with a group of people. All the Koreans I see in there are sitting with their family and not talking, eating with blank faces and cooking in their corner of the pan thing.

I'm well aware of the origins of the meme, but when someone talks about free rides now it's usually because they want it to be global practice.
Come on, man. Memes are no fun if you get all stuck up about them. That's why I saved this one despite the typo.

Koreans. Using thin metal chopsticks is very hard, but very rewarding afterwards.
