Doesn't look like you got a good sear on it. Use higher heat next time. Or reverse sear which works pretty well for thicker things like this, just cook it over medium heat until it's 90% done, take it out of the pan and turn it up to high and when it's fully heated, put it back in and keep flipping until nicely seared.

Reverse sear is degenerate. Just cook it normally like a real human being, and do it properly so you get a sear

It works better for thicker things though because if you have the heat high enough to get a really good sear, it's just going to burn by the time it's fully cooked.

If you want something pan-seared, cook something that doesn't need to be well-done like a steak. If it does need to be done to well, prepare it some other way like stew
