Calling all steak lovers!

I have a simple question, why do you not like the taste of meat?!

I see it everywhere people using all kinds of marinated and sauces for marinating and coating their meat after its cooked.

>Ketchup, BBQ, mustard, hot sauce you name it.

Then the marinates, everywhere i look i see people marinating with outrageously strong ingredients.

>Let the meat sit in fridge for 8 hours in the fridge in garlic and onion sauce/soup/marinade

<Lets cover the steak in pineapple, sugar and 51 one other stuffs.

Don't get me wrong the final product tastes good sure most of the time, but you tasting the million other spices and sauces right there.

>Where is the meat taste in the steak, i for one like to taste meat and enjoy the taste of meat not the stuff i soaked it in.

I taste the difference in meat that is what i enjoy.
>How can you enjoy the different smell and taste of lamb for instance if you kill it with spices and marinades. Same thing with cows a young cow taste differently compared to a grow up one.

My 2 cents

I buy a thick cut Ribeye for $11~ at Walmart, let it drain on paper towels, coarse salt and pepper, and cook in a little oil for a healthy 90 seconds each side, and render the fat side maybe another 45 seconds. I love meat

I like my steak medium. Not rare and not well done.
I prefer rump steak fried in a little butter with boiled new potatoes, anything green, grilled tomatoes and ground black pepper.
No sauce.

I eat it maybe twice per year as a treat.

Prime Rib,New Your Strip, T-Bone if you like steak for the meat.

Don't get them Extra Well, or Rare in my opinion. Get the other options based on taste

I love the taste of meat. Salt and pepper, cook medium rare, finish with butter. That’s all I ever put on a steak.

The other night I made some sous vide tenderloin filets with salt and pepper, then seared them on each side for a minute in rosemary, olive oil, and a little butter. Served with blanched asparagus. Pretty good. Considering making a red wine reduction next time.

I love the taste of meat.
A good steak needs nothing on it except perhaps some S&P.

The trouble is that good steaks are expensive. Have cheap meat? That's where the marinades and sauces come in.

>> No.10805946

This is dumb to try to be "purist" over. Rosemary and garlic help bring out the flavoring of the meat. But if you want to be purist, why bother with salt/pepper/butter at all?

>if you want meat
>doesnt even mention the tomahawk
>but says yes to the prime rib
.... anon.

Anyway I'd go for the ny strip. All meat no fat, not a big fan of gristle.

but tomahawk is ribeye/prime rib
just in a hipster cut

Not really hipster but I suppose if he included the tomahawk under 'prime rib' then sure.

Salt, pepper, with a little bit of fresh garlic thrown in at the end while it's searing.

I give me steak a rub with some nice salt and pepper, and let it sit for quite a while to properly rise to room temperature. I drop it in a very hot pan to get a nice sear while cooking it only to blue rare. Then I let it rest for a bit.

This is my perfect steak, and unless you take issue with salt and pepper it's pretty clear I'm not really fucking with the meat-taste

OP here, well sure it tastes well with thousand of spices and sauces and marinades, that is their job. However it does not taste like meat which is what i like my steak to taste.

I can make layer meat, cheese, bread and vegetables and call it a cake - would it taste bad, probably not its gonna be a big burger of sort.

Was this what i was looking when i wanted to eat cake - not really i wanted a desert.

see my point now?

if your palate isn't ruined from sucking a ton of cock, it is possible to taste more than 1 flavor at a time.
