This is a Hot Thomas, the state dish of Iowa.

>> No.10803147

No its not and that place was almost shut down three months ago because of some shady shit in the walkin.

Maid-Rite is a chain. Also, name a dish from Iowa that is more we’ll known than that sandwich.

In Kansas city we take authentic Mexican cuisine and add our own Midwestern twist

we call this, "the Hot Carl"

Exactly. This sandwich is iconic and completely changed the fast food game. Entire courses in culinary schools will be taught about this sandwich 20 years from now. It's the MCU of fast foos.

Nothing from Iowa ever changed anything. It’s so irrelevant that even the most famous dish from Iowa is basically unknown.

You just wait and see. It's hard to see the impact Iowa is having on the rest of the country right now because we're right in the middle of it, but give it some time. We're making waves here.

Your sarcasm was implying that I felt that this sandwich had any significance outside of that boring, worthless state. It doesn’t.

I remember when Roseanne started that restaurant and I believe was on Dave Letterman talking about the "loose meat" sandwich, which he couldn't seem to "get." I had never heard of it at the time, but I guess it's just an unsauced sloppy joe. We never ate sloppy joe's at my house. I had them at elementary school though.
In watching the below video, I forgot how crazy genius she was when she rambled on about humor in low class people in their crazy lives."Tom Arnold Bite contests" Too bad she forgot Twitter isn't anonymous. Social media political addiction issues, I guess. Enjoy!

Much better loose meat sandwiches than that chain crap, Maid-Rite.

That's a Maid Rite sammich you silly bitch. They may have been created in Iowa, but not that popular. I grew up in Des Moines and never seen a Maid Rite shop. The REAL state dish is anything pork. The tenderloin sandwich in particular, followed by pork chops. Hell, at the state fair they even have pork chops on a freakin' stick. But no Maid Rites at the fair.

Do you really expect a restaurant to still sell cigs?
