My school had all you can eat "dining halls" at which the freshmen were required to buy a 3x day meal plan for, evened out to about $20 for EACH meal. There'd be one freshly-made item every meal (for which the line was 20+ minutes long because they'd constantly be running out before they could slap it onto your plate), everything else was reheated nuggies and stale shit.
Once I moved to an apartment I learned to eat for $4 per day
