I knew my now wife wasn't a good cook when we married. She grew up with her mum and older sister doing everything.
Now it's gotten to the stage where I cook ~80% of our nightly meals/ weekend breakfasts, which she happily consumes.
The 20% of the time I eat her cooking, 80% of the time it's semi-edible whilst the other 20% it's so bad I struggle to eat enough to not offend her.
Every time I try eating her food I try and suggest following a recipe (she never does listen) or for the love of god try not adding so much salt.
Has any anon here actually had a serious sit down with their special someone to politely insist that they start following the amounts set out in an actual recipe? She knows I don't like her food much, so I don't think it will devastate her.
What do?

Also I'm not a cuck, I enjoy cooking, just on days or nights I don't feel like it, I'd love it if she could make something even to the standard of my mum (who detested cooking).

My father only cooked when we had a bbq. That's the way it should be. OP, you really need to have a serious talk to her. Even teach her some of the basics so it doesn't seem so overwhelming if she's is as bad as you make out.

Oddly enough, my wife is also lazy and incompetent in the kitchen, but got offended when I bought her that very sign to brighten up our kitchen. Small world.

Lmfao. I've already deleted it from my pictures, because she uses it when I'm at work.
I know I love her, but the other thing is I don't enjoy cooking together. It feels like 70-80% of the time I'm asking her to do things.
Her cutting skills are on point, because she's done plenty of that, it's just the knowing at what stage in a recipe to do what, which she could easily fix with a recipe.
Since we've met a few of her favourite recipes that I have in my repertoire are from after we met, from recipes I just googled and followed closely.
I've gotta ask her to please start doing that. No other choice.

you're married to a modern woman, they're pretty hit and miss when it comes to cooking. My girlfriend hates to cook or will cook really basic meals despite her mother being an amazing cook. Meanwhile I love to cook despite coming from a poor family where the meals were either spaghetti bolognaise or takeaway pizza or fish and chips.

I just get mine to help on the preparation, she doesn't mind cooking when it's both of us doing it and we just spent the whole time talking. Women actually like that shit.

Yeah, she never minds helping with the prep if I ask her. I kinda feel juvenile though, as in that's one of her 20% of times she cooks.
I need to quit that attitude because it's 'us' time, the food gets prepared faster and who knows, she might learn a thing or two.
Thanks anon.

We literally can’t cook together as there’s not enough room in our kitchen, especially with my home brew/moonshine still. Pic related.

Beat her everytime she makes shitty food. Pavlov reflex will kick in and she will start associating bad food = pain.
As most of the mamals dont particullary enjoy pain, she will start cooking better food.

I've been with my wife for 10 years now. We met in high school, and I got her pregnant. She is and always has been a lazy person and a shit cook. I wouldn't even mind eating shit food if she at least made it on time. But she rarely did.

We'd get into screaming arguments constantly about how lazy and worthless she was. I felt like an asshole for it, but goddamn she was a real piece of work. The only reason I dealt with all this was for the kids, and also because the sex is great.

But one night, I got fed up. Not only did she get drunk, neglect the kids, and made me top Ramen for dinner, but she decided to give me attitude too. She was being real fucking bitchy. So I told my grandparents to keep an eye on the kids and told my wife we were going to go out and have dinner together. I drove maybe 3 blocks to a quiet area (we live in Oregon, it's not hard to find a quiet field) and I got out of the car, went around like I was going to open her door for her and let her out, and I just beat the shit out of her while she was still seatbelted. After a few punches, I asked her if she wanted to go back to her parents. She started screaming and yelling and said yes, so I beat the shit out of her again. Then I asked her what she wanted to do. She finally got smart and said she wanted to go home. So I took her home and dared her to start trouble. I even handed her my cellphone and dialed her mom's number on the drive home. I made her talk to her mom, while daring her to fucking say something.

Before that incident, I had never laid a hand on her. But I had always threatened it. I told her "one of these days, if you don't straighten up, I'm going to lay hands on you."

All my meals have been on time, and she just recently tried to make a meatloaf. It was mediocre, but I was just thrilled that she tried.

Do with this information what you will.

If someone isn't smart enough to use a recipe (or accept the wisdom of using one) then they're probably not smart enough to lawfully put your penis inside.

You know, a lot of wisdom in this comment. (OP here)
I was just old and an alck and she's not ugly. Her vag doesn't feel as good as my ex-wife's though so I'm not really turned on by the sex. I much prefer blow jobs.

I guess she's a bit proud? I remember how upset my ex-wife got when I gave any constructive criticism. thankfully, she cooked good food well over 90% of the time. also, we cooked ~50/50 throughout those 10 years.

If she is unwilling to learn cooking then you have to do it, just cook bigger amounts so you don't have to do it each day.
