Why the fuck do people think lab meat which is pretty much stem cells in a cluster are going to change anything meat gets flavor and nutrients from what the animal eats/it's blood flow depositing vitamins and minerals in the tissue. Lab grown stuff has none or that it's not the future if anything it might replace TVP or Soi protien isolate that's super common in foods now but that's a straight cost thing and it would serve the same purpose cheap tasteless filler

That's what it'll be used for at first, but as the technology is refined they'll be able to create high quality meat products that are cheaper to produce than what we have today. Just because something isn't perfect right away doesn't mean it can't ever get better and needs to be scrapped.

I didn't say it was immoral. That's why I said eat meat in moderation, just don't waste it and don't eat more than you really need. I think we need certain amounts of animal products in our diets to thrive so I'm not totally against it, but I do think it would be immoral if at some point lab-grown meat is identical to the "real" stuff, and you still choose to eat the real stuff for some reason.
