But >>10732368
Has a point a lot of them in the US are shitty, mostly because they build a lot in the ghetto. But my city has one in a really white area of town full of middle aged/elderly people and it's really fucking nice AND cheap.

Their store-brand stuff is usually better quality for the price than what you get elsewhere, too.

>> No.10732395

>>10732368
>off brand
It's like you fucks actually believe that there's a sinister "off brand" factory producing "off brand" foods that are somehow different from the branded version. News flash, store brands come off the same lines as the regular brands. The difference is the packaging and how easily your weak little mind is molded by marketing.

>> No.10732403

Found the Aldi customer. Wait til you find Trader Joe's, it's like Aldi but it's "healthy" because the skeezy boxed garbage has cute forest animals on it

>> No.10732409

>>10732356
Surprisingly good quality for such a low price. When you're a broke fuck like me who accepted the fact that cheap food = complete garbage (aka Wal-Mart), it's eye-opening to discover a grocery store that is even cheaper while not being disgusting.

>> No.10732413

Every grocery store accepts EBT, from Whole Food to Kroger. It's just like supporting debit cards with some restrictions on what it can buy.

>> No.10732415

>>10732356
Different guy here. It's not the best in my opinion, but it's great for what it is. It can't compete with the selection of larger grocery stores, so I would pick another as my main, but aldi works great as a supplemental grocer in addition to your main.

>> No.10732419

Literally never shopped from an Aldi's in my life, I just happen to understand supply chain management better than the average bear. Or /ck/ poster, apparently.

>> No.10732423

>>10732413
If that's true why do they put up signs that say "we accept EBT"? Does welfare not come with some sort of instruction manual, so that the private sector has to hand hold these people? Like, did Republicans decide that giving out sufficient information on the program is for commies, that the government might save money by keeping people in the dark?

>> No.10732425

Aldi was way better than the other economy markets when I was in Germany. Their prices were better and they had more products, too.

>> No.10732435

>>10732419
Does it really matter? Aldi, TJ's, Walmart brand, or some fancy organic brand. Boxed garbage is boxed garbage. This may come as a shock but some people actually buy produce and meat, and cook it, rather than getting butthurt over the elitists and their name brand Kraft Dinner.

>> No.10732447

I guess Aldi is better in other states or something but in Texas it is just for poor people and mexicans. I will never go to an Aldi again the one closest to me is disgusting.

Have you ever been outside and talked to people? Do you not realize how stupid most people are? People on food stamps and welfare aren't college educated and usually don't even have a high school diploma. A $1 sticker advertising the fact that you accept EBT will pay for itself a thousand times over. Why don't you get off of /pol/ and go live in the real world for a change? One of the things I like about Aldi is that it tends to be cheaper for produce and dairy and staples like flour/sugar/bread than most other stores. Meat's a bit more of a toss-up, but it's usually in the same

Aldi is literally my go to grocery store.

I just went there today. I bought five pounds of country-style pork ribs for a dollar a pound. Eight packages of Skyr for four bucks, four loaves of Arnold whole wheat bread for 89 cents each, a pound of strawberries for a dollar...

On top of the great prices on staple foods, they have a better selection of cheese and sausages than any of my other local stores, as well as the literal best selection of "International foods" in town (not counting the actual Asian markets).

The best part is, they built my local Aldi directly across the street from Walmart. Samfags been BTFO ever since.

2) The place is depressing. Nobody wants to shop around with welfare recipients, hobos and other fucked-up people. Shopping must be an enjoyable experience, not buying what you need in a rush and get the hell out. You might as well order online in that case.

I don't understand why people think Aldi goods are the exact same as the original brand. Would companies really hurt their own flagship product and produce the same quality for aldi?

Most famously, the ACA. They knew repealing it outright would cause such immense backlash that they'd lose the House, so instead they surgically removed key provisions to make it collapse as rapidly as possible.

Then, we could look at the FCC (regulation doesn't work! it only rewards corruption and insiders! to prove it we'll appoint a corrupt insider who will reward his buddies in the industry)

Then we could look at departments or agencies like the Energy, Education, or the EPA (ironically founded by the GOP, back before the GOP had completely gone insane). All of which are headed by people specifically chosen to dismantle or sabotage the organization from within (this is literally what they have announced, this is not my "analysis" or "interpretation")

I'm feeling a lot better than you, considering all I've had is coffee, while you're starting the strong stuff straight away.

Since you might be new here, you might do well to note "Anonymous" isn't a handle or a pseudonym. I'm the person who said TJs is shitty junk food with "upgraded" panda bears. You made an oblique reference to that when someone else was raving about goose-stepping Nazis. I came in and corrected your misconceptions about the panda bears joke, and now you're drunkenly lashing out at everyone and demanding mediation when things go wrong.

No it doesn't. Drinking extra water just makes you urinate the excess you're unable to process, which results in either wet sheets or broken sleep. A good night's sleep helps far more than excess water.

New York is a special case though, a box of cereal is like $7. Your best bet are the big stores like Trader Joes, Whole Foods etc because they have more standard pricing nationwide. Fairway is GOAT though, the one on 125th is bigger and way less busy than the midtown one.

I have an actual working kitchen though, why would I go there? It's for office workers who want to stock up on cheap microwave frozen meals, NYU kids living in dorms, and 20something retards LARPing as Sex and the City packed 5 deep in a 2 bedroom apartment in the East Village and they can't use the stove or sink because it would instantly turn the place into a cockroach factory. Not to mention the fact that the line is like a block and a half long at all times, why would I stand in line that long to get some nasty frozen curry tempeh BBQ ribs? Just because it says "organic" on the box?

Whole Foods yes. Fairway, sometimes.

lol relax, TJ's has a lot of regular deals and interesting varieties of staples. $.99/lb pastas, like 12 types of rice/grains, there must be 30 different nuts- things like that. Even their liquor products are pretty good for the price.

Their takeout type food is garbage though, fresh produce isn't worth it unless it's on sale or you're in a rush. Honestly if I lived in some tiny flyover town with only one grocery store, I'd want it to be a Trader Joe's.

You don't know what you're talking about. I've had almost every brand of cheese crackers and Aldi's cheez it rip off tastes nothing like any of them. There's a weird cheese powder on them, it's bizarre. Plenty of store brands are just name brands in generic packaging, you're right about that. You're all high and mighty saying that we are being molded by marketing, but it sounds like your knowledge on the topic has been molded by frugal mommy bloggers.

Aldi's a garbage (the fish is from China) although they have surprisingly good household items. Their whole checkout line pisses me off. There is no holding area like in other markets so the cashier has to use her own shopping cart. And for some reason, they won't bag my groceries even though I put my bag right in front of their faces. So I have to rush to bag my groceries after I'm done paying (again because they're are no holding areas and the cashier has to check out the next person).

I'm thinking it's Aldi's PR people. Aldi's sucks. We have cheap Mexican supermarkets which Aldi's can't beat for cheap, fresh produce. And Kirkland is the best generic brand. Aldi's generics are horrid. Their tomato sauce is disgusting and I don't even know who they get to make potato chips, it's bad as well. I mean how can you fuck up potato chips? Trader Joes is the better "Aldi" experience.
