asking for a friend teehee

I'm thinking to get some sliced ham, bagels, cheapy cheese, and eggs - like a big thing of eggs - so I can make eggy hammy bagels, but that's maybe 6 total hammy egg bagels and I'll want at least 2 a day, fuck

maybe a few things of ramen so I can make ramelets with the leftover eggys, and another bunch of bananas
I currently have 5 bananas and a 1/3 bag of Corn Pops, so not much of an arsenal to build from

What would you procure, I mean like $25 is possible but that's pushing it

The whole premise of this post is that you have to buy groceries only once and you can't go to the store again for two weeks. I'm assuming that I have a little studio apartment, some basic cookware, pots/pans, access to running water, silverware, salt, pepper, basic condiments, etc. With that being my assumption, I'd go with:

>10lb bag of rice, ~$4
>64oz jar of peanut butter ~$6
>30oz jar of grape jelly ~$2
>loaf of bread ~$3
>dozen eggs ~$2
>1lb bag of cheap lunch meat ~$3

You are an evolutionary dead end and should consider having a vasectomy as to not propagating your inferior genes forward unto the next generation.

That said, stick to vegetable soup, you can't go wrong with it.

Here is a basic soup mix:

3 potatoes
2 tomatoes
1 carrot
(Optional)1 small piece of meat of your choice

Basically, just boil those togheter, let it cool and throw it in a blender, this should result in a cream. Just stir-fry some onions and\or garlic with some cooking oil of your choosing and throw the blended cream in.

This should be pretty filling and healthy, shuld yield several portions too, which you can easily store in tupperwares and leave it at your fridge or freeze it.

You can add vegetables of your choosing into this mix, will go well with pumpkin, squash, raddishes.

If the cream texture is not your thing, just chop your igredients into pieces of similar size and boil in water, add little soup pastas to it if you want.

Also, bean soup is the very best soup, blend 1-2 cups of cooked beans with some water, use that as a soup base and add potatoes, carrots, bell peppers and string beans. If you have red wine around the house, a couple spoons of it into the soup makes it much more delicious,

Other than that, you can get creative and make other soup recipes, like cold soups, but I am not a big fan of those.

Looks like someone went to the store hungry.

You also ignored a lot of good advice and got like 3 days worth of food that isnt that filing or nutritious. How are you gonna spread 10 slices of cheese over 2 weeks? I hope you run into some money, anon, or after day 5 this will be brutal for you.

Instead of bagels get cheap, filling carbs. Like rice, potatoes, or even cheap white bread.

Instead of cream cheese and expensive sliced cheese (Seriously dude, those 2 things were probably like 8 bucks total alone) get vegatables. Onions, squash, broccoli, mushrooms, you could of gotten all of that for under $8. Hate cooking all that raw stuff? Go to your frozen food isle and get whatever veggies you want for cheaper and cook them in the microwave. Frozen green beans are like $1 a bag.
You could of gotten some beans too if your into that.
If you NEED cheese at least go for some bulk cheese blocks...

Are you just gonna have pasta and plain pasta sauce?

How about instead of a prepackaged smoked ham you get the cheapest raw meat you can find. Sausages, ground beef, frozen chicken breasts, top round or whatever roast is cheapest. Spend $6 on a few pounds of roast or chicken and add stuff to your meals for weeks.
You could of even gone the hotdog route if you were so inclined.

Eggs were a good choice.

Eating while poor is all about planning, anon. So you dont go starving. And based on this post you planned poorly.

Hope the money fairy visits you son....

Buy a whole chicken, onion, carrot, rosemary, celery, a good sack of rice, beans, a piece of cooking ham.

How much? About four regular carrots, one big yellow onion, 4 stalks of celery, two cans of beans and that piece of ham doesn't been to be more than half the size of your hand. Depends on local costs, do what you can.

Chop up chicken into the familiar parts or whatever, it doesn't matter.
Separate and save drumstick tips, wing tips, inner breast cage and spine, if you can debone the chicken now, awesome, if not its ok.
Chop up part of the veggies (save some for chopping and mixing with rice, about half) and throw in with those parts and bones you might have along with some rosemary and make a bit of broth.
After a couple of hours discard solids (separate by taking them out and straining the liquid) and save the broth.
Cook rice in broth
Cook beans with piece of ham
Roast chicken with rosemary (debone it now if you haven't, should be much easier) and shred, the drippings can be used to make the rice so this can be done first of all, a bit of broth can be used to cook it in a pan after roasting and shredding the chicken with the rest of the diced veggies, if you want, without drying. Separate portions into whatever, saran wrap or aluminum wrap even and freeze.

That should be about two meals a day for two weeks, you'll live, but you won't be putting on any weight.

If not if you can't afford all the stuff, substitute rice for 14 ramen packs and that should do the trick. Cook it with some broth and for gods sake throw out the packet, just eat the noodles.

i am also a poorfag, i live in bongland so these prices might not make sense to you but you really could have spent your money better

today i just bought:
1kg carrots - £0.45
500g red lentils - £0.69
2 cans chopped tomatoes - £0.58
a head of celery - £0.52
2 courgettes - £1.00
500g pasta - £0.39

total - £3.63

i already had onions, garlic, oil and some herbs but to buy them would maybe cost about £3 and you would have shitloads left over

im going to finely chop and fry the veg (3 carrots, a couple onions, one or both courgettes (im undecided), 3 cloves of garlic), add some oregano and thyme, add the lentils, both cans of tomatoes and some water and simmer for ~30 minutes. serve with pasta

this will make 6 generous servings and freezes well. i'll have lots of carrots, onions, garlic, oil, celery, herbs and maybe some pasta and a courgette left over. the recipe could be doubled up by buying twice the lentils, tomatoes and maybe courgettes for £2.27. i dont have a big enough pot to cook that much so i haven't bothered.

also ive never made this recipe with courgettes before so they might make it taste like shit and omitting them would save quite a lot of money, relatively.

its a complete protein (grain + legume), all ingredients keep quite well. you could probably cook it all in one pot but i prefer to make the pasta seperately to save freezer space, i cook the pasta while i reheat the other shit in the microwave.

courgettes are zucchinis and a kilogram is just under 2 lbs.
