Now the blueberry is one that can't work on it's own, it has to have something with it like the kiwi, it's a not a...a stand alone fruit

Buy frozen blueberries, eat them right out of the freezer. It's like candy.

I've noticed some brands are much better than others. Ironically, Safeway's brand is one of my favorites.

I worked in safeway produce until mid last year, and last year all their blueberries were fuckibg gigantic for some reason. No, my hands are not tiny, I can post other pics for size reference if needed

That’s not right. I’m not anti-GMO, but I am against growing strains of fruits that are massive, shiny, 98%water and no flavor to look good on store shelves. Strawberries are notorious for this. I grew up in Maine and know my ‘lu’ries. They should be the size of a pencil eraser and more tart than sweet.

Used to love blueberries until about 10 years ago. Around that time some asshole must have figured out how to turn them into oversized tasteless sugar water balls. It's pretty much impossible to find real ones these days. Fuck you asshole.

berries of any type are notoriously unsweet, and so have to be perfectly ripe to be even halfway good.

Ripeness with grocery berries is really the problem. The blueberry farmer where I pick my berries has her workers pick less than ripe berries for her commercial shipments because ripe ones would be damaged. Also, last year, at least in my area of the south, the blueberries all were larger than normal and the ones I picked myself were bursting with flavor, literal sugar bombs. Also, I highly doubt blueberries have been GMO'd as there are no insect pests that bother them, herbicides are entirely unnecessary and it's too small scale to make it worthwhile compared to other fruits.

tl;dr you've never really experienced blueberries until you eat fresh picked fully ripe.
