All of these faggots are fucking it up by starting with "potato". It's Yukon golds, bitches. Get it straight. The king potato for mashed potatoes. Lacking Yukon golds, your second choice is redskins, skin still on. Get dat fiber and minerals, motherfuckers.

After that, you need roasted garlic. Just a clove or so to get that garlicy taste. Then a shit ton of REAL, sweet cream unsalted butter. Like, shitloads of it Then a bit of salt, a bit of pepper, and mash those motherfuckers by hand until they're creamy and delicious. With the garlic, you don't even need gravy.

I did work for a place that made spinach-wasabi mashed potatoes. Those were bomb as fuck. We'd saute some spinach until it wilter, then mix it in with the mash along with some wasabi until the potatoes turned green. Shit was cash, yo.

Boil potato. Beat potato. Add milk and a bit of butter. Add either panned leeks or dill.
Serve with chicken meat. Or, alternatively, mix in some beef or pork.

Im making a garlic/lemon/rosemary/thyme/chicken recipe, but I want the potatoes to just impart some savory bullshit, so I am thinking saute some spring onions with butter, and milk, and reduce, and then pepper, and salt, but im not sure.

Make sure the potato:butter ratio is 2:1. It will seem like too much butter, but it really is the key to good mash.

>> No.10658584

Boil potatoes in just enough water to cover them. DONT STRAIN. Use the water to mash them with! It keeps the starch in your meal and saves precious calories. No salt pepper or butter required.

they're pretty hard to fuck up, just add ingredients slowly and mash/season to taste depending on what you want

the BIG SECRET nobody will tell you though is if you want a strong garlic flavor you'll never get it by mincing garlic, most of the flavor is in the juices so the optimal way is to blend cloves into the milk/cream you're going to add, go small at first if you do this because 1 clove blended will have the potency of like 5+ minced
