The higher end a wine gets, the more "fragile" it gets and the more likely it is to turn into vinegar.
It's literally impossible to market a high end wine in the box because it's going to turn to shit the second it's left unbought on a shelf for more than a couple days.

People have this idea that wine just "gets better" if you age it, but unless you have a cool and dank wine cellar, that bottle you've been saving for "that special occasion" has probably gone to shit years ago.
